On Saturday morning (10), Mengão's youth teams took to the field in Gávea for another round of the Campeonato Carioca. In the first game of the day, valid for the seventh round of the Taça Guanabara, the U-17s beat Bangu 1-0, with a goal from João Victor in stoppage time in the second half. With the result, Mengão took the lead in the competition with 17 points.

The game
The Ninho Boys started the match by taking the initiative and putting pressure on Bangu. In the 17th minute, Kauã took a shot from outside the box, forcing the goalkeeper to put it out for a corner. Tallyson then hit the post and hit the crossbar with the rebound. Despite the red-and-blacks' widespread dominance, the first half ended goalless.

After the break, Flamengo continued to attack, trying to break through Bangu's defense. In the 13th minute, João Victor attempted a shot from the edge of the box, but the ball went over the goal. Bangu's goalkeeper stood out in the match with some great saves. The red-and-black team tried every way to score, but the ball refused to go in.

Then, in the 46th minute, in the final minute of stoppage time, Mengão scored the winning goal. After a ball was lofted into the box, Joshua passed it to defender João Victor, who was free, who headed it into the net: 1-0.

U-17 is defeated by Bangu

To complete the double round in Gávea, the U-17 ended up being defeated by Bangu by 2 to 1. João Marcos scored the red-black goal. It is worth remembering that the U-17 is playing with an alternative team in the Campeonato Carioca, as it also competes in the Brasileirão of the category.

The game
The start of the match saw few scoring opportunities, with both teams closely studying each other. In the 16th minute, Pyetro took a skillful free kick and nearly opened the scoring. The ball sailed just wide of the post. It didn't take long for Flamengo to gain control of the match and create the best chances.

Early in the second half, Bangu opened the scoring. Jonathan set up João Marcos to unleash a powerful shot from the edge of the box, scoring a beautiful goal: 1-0. Bangu responded quickly, leveling the score with Bruno Viana's goal in the fifth minute: 1-1.

At 21', Bangu managed to turn the game around with Ângelo, who beat the pace and shot into the corner of goalkeeper Daniel Alves: 1-2. The Garotos do Ninho went forward in search of an equalizer, but ended up being defeated.
