A victory of body and soul, which has everything to change the key in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. With a goal in the last play of the match, Flamengo scored the first, suffered the turnaround and showed resilience to score twice and defeat Vitória-BA 3-2. It was the first victory in the competition, which yielded three important points in the qualifying phase. João Vitor Couto, twice, and Walace Inácio scored the red-black goals in the match, played this Wednesday (8), on field 6 of Ninho do Urubu.

Both teams started the match with great intensity and plenty of duels for possession. Vitória tried to exploit the left side of Flamengo's defense, while Flamengo sought to play the ball quickly to get forward. The first Flamengo attack came in the 16th minute: Guilherme Ivo crossed from the right and Isaac headed over the bar.

The Red-Black team had more possession and occupied the attacking half until, at 28 minutes, João Vitor Couto received a pass from Isaac and opened the scoring, taking advantage of indecision in the opposing defense. Shortly after, Isaac shot over the bar from inside the area and almost extended the lead, after a good play by Rafael Tenório on the left. In one of their few attacks, Vitória equalized at 41 minutes.

Almost immediately after the start of the second half, Vitória scored and turned the game around in less than a minute. In another attack down the left, the Bahia team threatened again. However, their shot went wide to the right of Gabriel Werneck. Flamengo almost equalized in the 15th minute when João Vitor Couto shot close to the left corner after a pass from Jordan Michael. Shortly after, another chance arose, this time with Luiz Guilherme, but the goalkeeper made the save.

The Flamengo team had another opportunity in the 20th minute, with João Vitor Couto. The number 10 shot towards the goal and the defender saved it on the line. In the 26th minute, Isaac hit the left post. The pressure continued and, in the next play, the opposing goalkeeper made two consecutive saves in less than a minute.

The equalizer finally came in the 45th minute: Luiz Guilherme passed the ball and Richard delivered a perfect cross for Walace Inácio to finish with no chance for the goalkeeper. Coach Daniel Franklin's team never gave up, and the reward came in the last attacking play of the match, with João Vitor Couto shooting from outside the box, a low, driven shot that nestled into the left corner of the goal, sealing the victory for Flamengo.
