For Paulo Henrique, "4-0 was a good result"
Coach praises Flamengo's debut, but says it's necessary to stay focused on the rest of the competition

Flamengo's rout of Guarani in the opening round of the Brasileirão U-20 season earned praise from coach Paulo Henrique for the Flamengo youth squad. He said the boys performed well in the match and deserved the emphatic victory. Despite this, he believes the team needs to remain focused on the remainder of the competition, which is a short-term tournament that runs until December 21st.
The manager believes the positive result was deserved thanks to the boys' dedication and successful use of the chances they created. Since not everything can be praised, however, Paulo points out that the score could have been even higher.
"There's always that expectation surrounding the debut, but we did well and took advantage of the chances we had. Of course, we could have scored more goals too, we ended up wasting a couple of chances at the end, but it was good. I think 4-0 was a good result," he assessed.
The rout was an important step for Flamengo to open up an advantage in Group A of the competition. Next Wednesday (08.12), Rubro-Negro faces Palmeiras, and will leave its classification to the next phase very well on track if it can achieve another victory.
"The championship is short, we have to take advantage of the opportunities that arise. The first stage is over, now we're going to think about the next game, against Palmeiras, to try to take an important step towards qualifying," he added.
In addition to Guarani and Palmeiras, Flamengo also faces Atlético-MG and Atlético-GO in this first phase of the Brasileirão Sub-20, which is being played in Rio Grande do Sul.
