This Monday morning (8) was different. Almost a hundred boys changed the routine of the youth categories area at CT George Helal, on the first day of the Flamengo Partners Festival. After a hearty breakfast, the athletes from Tolentino, Inter de Minas, Trieste and Wilson Goiano already headed to the fields.

Under the guidance of four technical committees comprised of members from Flamengo's youth academy, the youngsters from the under-11, under-12, under-13, and under-14 categories participated in activities on fields 8 and 9 of Ninho do Urubu. The training sessions were observed by staff from the four partner clubs and benefited from all the infrastructure that Flamengo offers for the development of its youth categories.

After lunch, the field was out of the picture, and it was time for the cleats and balls to give way to other learning experiences. Four workshops were held that addressed important aspects of life in general, not necessarily those of an athlete, reinforcing the goal of first creating citizens and then, soccer players.

The youngsters from the partner clubs split up to listen to the social service professionals, who presented on the topic "Respect Your Father," and the pedagogy team, with the lecture "Number 10 Jersey." To conclude, the nutrition department explained the importance of "Healthy Eating for an Athlete," and the psychologists spoke about the "Red and Black DNA (Race, Love, and Passion)."

The entire staff of Flamengo's youth categories worked intensely to accommodate 96 athletes from the four partner clubs and members of their coaching staff to ensure everything ran perfectly. The boys were able to enjoy all the facilities of the training center, from morning until late afternoon, when dinner was served. José Rodrigo, coordinator of processes for Flamengo's youth categories, did not hide his satisfaction with the results of the first day of the Festival.

"The work was beneficial for us to implement our new strategic vision concept for athlete recruitment. It is very important that our partner clubs experience the environment of the training center and have access to all our facilities. Especially the athletes, who during the Festival will be able to experience the daily life of a Flamengo athlete and get closer to the dream of playing in the red and black jersey," said José Rodrigo.

Nothing beats a day full of activities for the kids to burn off energy and get some rest. After all, it will be days of lots of learning and soccer on the fields of the George Helal Training Center.
