Flamengo's social project, "Field of Dreams", holds trials at Chácara do Céu, in Greater Tijuca

Flamengo's Social Responsibility and Youth Football scored another great goal this Wednesday. In partnership with the Greater Tijuca Sub-Prefecture, the club continued its "Field of Dreams" project, which recruits young talent (boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 15) from local communities for a training period at Mais Querido. This Wednesday, tryouts were held in the Chácara do Céu community, one of the eight communities participating in the project. Flamengo idol and "Field of Dreams" godfather, Andrade, was in attendance.
One of the "Field of Dreams" initiatives is the "Perfect Pass" initiative, which involves donating sports equipment to participating social projects. Items donated include vests, goalkeeper pants, shirts, shorts, and socks (new or in good condition) that Flamengo doesn't use.
"A perfect pass means recognizing your teammate in a position to score a goal. Then you make a perfect pass so he can score that goal; that's the idea," said Camila Nascimento, Flamengo's Social Responsibility Manager.
Finally, another important project that is also part of "Field of Dreams" is "We Will Play Together," created by the Social Responsibility of Mais Querido. This methodology uses sports to instill values such as resilience, perseverance, and self-confidence, all rooted in Flamengo's DNA. Through this methodology, the club trains educators who work with children and young people in these social projects, enhancing their existing important work.
"It's important to think of sports as a tool for social development, a channel for transmitting values and citizenship. Through Jogaremos Juntos, we've created a methodology to work on sports through socio-emotional learning," Camila concluded.
Continuing the project, next week, "Field of Dreams" will be at Morro da Formiga.
