With less than 20 minutes of play underway, Flamengo's juniors had already scored three goals against Bangu, practically sealing the victory in the match that marked the opening of the second round of the Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament (OPG). Eduardo, Léo Henrique, and Mattheus scored for Bangu, giving the "Mais Querido" a 3-1 victory and remaining top of Group E with ten points.

"We started with a very strong intensity. The boys were very committed to putting Flamengo ahead. Then, due to that strong score in the first half of the game, there was a natural relaxation. We started playing with a little less intensity and began to control the match more. Bangu scored a goal and tried to build on the game, but I believe the match was controlled from start to finish," explained Cleber dos Santos, coach of Mais Querido.

With 44 seconds gone, forward Eduardo headed the ball into the net after a perfect cross from Igor Sartori. The second goal was scored by midfielder Léo Henrique, who pounced on a rebound from the Bangu goalkeeper after a firm header from Igor Sartori in the 16th minute. Three minutes later, left-back Marquinhos made a beautiful play and was brought down in the box. Number 10 Mattheus took responsibility and perfectly converted the penalty.

"I think it was the fastest goal of my life. In fact, I hadn't even realized it was less than a minute into the game," commented Eduardo, the competition's top scorer with 11 goals.

Next Saturday (09.11), Flamengo will go to Giulite Coutinho Stadium to face America. The ball will roll at 15:30 pm.
