Brothers Anderson and Alex will compete in the Four Nations Tournament in South Africa

Last week, Brazil's U-18 coach, Luiz Verdini, named the squad that will compete in the Four Nations International Tournament in South Africa. Flamengo will have two representatives in the competition. This is a normal occurrence, as the Gávea team always has standout players in its youth academy. But this time, the call-up was special. Especially for Seu Julio and Dona Solange.
Full-backs and twin brothers Alex and Anderson have been called up for the first time together to represent the red-and-black team in yellow. The players will report to São Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport on April 3rd at 14 p.m. before traveling to the World Cup host country. The competition runs from April 8th to 12th and will feature Brazil, South Africa, Nigeria, and Ghana.
"I'm very happy. It's a dream come true. We've been to the national team before, but never together. This is the first time and it couldn't have felt better," Alex celebrated.
The Santos family is celebrating. Big supporters of their sons in sports, the twins' parents are overjoyed by their sons' success.
"Our parents are very happy. Very happy indeed. They've always supported us a lot, they're at every game, and that's essential. I hope to do well to give back all the support we have at home," explained the right-back.
With Galhardo suspended, after receiving his third yellow card in the match against Resende, Alex should start in Wednesday's (24.03) classic against Vasco.
"My situation is actually similar to Everton Silva's. If I can do well and provide an assist like he did, I'll be very happy. I hope we can win. We can't let this opportunity to return to the top of the table slip away. These are two very important games for our team because they're direct clashes," he added.
Flamengo is second in the Campeonato Carioca de Juniores (Rio de Janeiro Junior Championship) with 23 points. Botafogo and Fluminense are level on points but trail Flamengo in goal difference. Vasco leads the competition with 25.
