Once again, the Brazilian national team faces a youth soccer championship. And, once again, Flamengo is represented. Having been based at Granja Comany in Teresópolis since September 28th, and acclimatizing in Chile since October 9th, Flamengo's Klebinho and Gabriel Batista are preparing to help the Brazilian under-17 team in its quest for its fourth world championship. In addition to these two players, Flamengo is also represented on the coaching staff by doctor João Amorim. Flamengo debuts this Saturday (October 17.10th) at 19 pm against South Korea in Coquimbo, Chile.

With the numbers already defined, right-back Klebinho will enter the field wearing the number 2 shirt and goalkeeper Gabriel will wear the number 21. The Brazilian National Team has three world titles, won in 1997, 1999 and 2003. In Chile, the team will have the opportunity to win the competition for the first time on South American soil, as the titles were won in Egypt, New Zealand and Finland.

"I'm really looking forward to this World Cup debut. We're coming off two weeks of preparation at Granja. We've played training matches and we're really excited to represent our country and also Flamengo," said goalkeeper Gabriel.

"I'm really looking forward to it starting soon. We've been working full-time, with solid, tactical and physical training. I feel honored to once again wear the Brazilian jersey in this important championship, and we're going after the title and representing the Red-Black Nation well," said full-back Klebinho.

After the opening match on October 20th at 18 p.m. Brasília time, Brazil will face England in La Serena, and to conclude the first stage, on the 23rd, they will take to the field to face Guinea in Viña del Mar at 18 p.m. Brasília time. All matches will be broadcast on Sportv and TV Brasil.
