Last week, the Brazilian national team put in strong performances in two different categories. The participation of six Flamengo players was crucial on each occasion.

In the under-17 category, Brazil competed in—and won—the BRICS Cup in India. The competition, which featured Brazil, the home team, Russia, South Africa, and China, featured the participation of the red-and-blacks Lincoln, Wesley, and Vinícius Jr. The latter was the competition's top scorer with five goals—one in each match, including a stunning lob from outside the box in the final. Brazil won all matches: 2-0 China; 2-0 Russia; 3-0 South Africa; 3-1 India; 5-1 South Africa (final).

The U-20 team is competing in the Quadrangular de Seleções (Team Quadrangular) in Talca-CHI. The competition serves as preparation for the U-20 South American Championship and features Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, and Uruguay. Felipe Vizeu, Lucas Paquetá, and Matheus Sávio were called up by coach Rogério Micale to participate in the tournament. And they have lived up to the coach's trust. In their debut, the two midfielders participated in the 3-0 victory over Ecuador. This Friday (14), Brazil won again: 2-1 over Uruguay. Felipe Vizeu was one of the main players in the game and opened the scoring in the very first play of the match. Sávio also participated in the game, coming on as a substitute. The U-20 team returns to the field this Sunday (16), against Chile, in the final round of the championship.
