Flamengo's Under-11 football team won the 2016 Mundialito Go Cup. After beating Vasco da Gama in the final 2-1, with goals from Pajé and Biro, the Rubro-Negro lifted the trophy in the competition that included the participation of eleven other teams: Colo-Colo (CHI), Sporting (POR), Benfica (POR), Alianza Lima (PER), Grêmio, Vasco da Gama, Fluminense, Botafogo, Santos, Cruzeiro and Goiás.

The Mais Querido overcame major challenges, such as eliminating the then-defending champion Sporting (POR). After a 3-3 draw in regulation time, the Rubro-Negro eliminated the Portuguese team on penalties. 

In addition to the title, the boy Gustavo (Pajé) was the tournament's top scorer.
