U-13 defeats Fluminense in the Metropolitan Championship

In the other classic of the afternoon, the under-14 team draws with the tricolor

On Friday afternoon (17), Flamengo faced Fluminense in matches valid for the 9th round of the Sub-13 and Sub-14 Metropolitan Championship. 

In the afternoon's second match, coach Leonam Kasali's under-13 team defeated their rivals from Laranjeiras 2-1 with goals from Lucas Matheus and Ronald. In the match that kicked off the afternoon of classics in Gávea, at 14 p.m., Mengão's under-14 team, led by coach Leonardo Cherede, drew 1-1 with Tricolor. Arthur scored for "Mais Querido."

The U-13 team remains undefeated in the competition with a game in hand and has moved into first place with 18 points, surpassing Fluminense. The U-14 team reached 13 points with the draw and maintained fourth place.

Only two rounds remain to determine the top eight teams in each category that will advance to the quarterfinals. This afternoon's results qualify Mengão for one of these spots. According to the competition rules, at the end of the first phase, the points from the under-13 and under-14 teams will be added together to determine the overall standings. Flamengo currently has 31 points and is in third place overall.
