Flamengo's Under-13 team hosted União this Sunday morning (12) at Gávea, in a match valid for the quarter-finals of the Taça Rio of the State Championship in the category. Under intense heat, the Garotos do Ninho easily won 7-0 (França [2], Fortaleza, Victor, Uchoa, Adriel and Falquer) and advanced to the semi-finals of the competition, where they will face the winner of Vasco x Volta Redonda. Mais Querido needs to win the Taça Rio to have the chance to compete in the final of the Metropolitan Championship, the State Championship in the category.

Flamengo dominated the match from the first minute, but the goal took a while to arrive. The first good chance came in the 8th minute. João Vitor suffered a hard tackle at the edge of the area, which earned the defender a yellow card. Victor took the free kick and the ball went very close to the crossbar of goalkeeper Samuel. In the 24th minute, Fortaleza shot low and Samuel parried it for a corner. The Flamengo youth team finally found the net in the 28th minute. Hygor crossed with great precision and found Fortaleza well positioned at the far post. He was opportunistic and finished first-time to open the scoring for Flamengo.

At 30 minutes, Jonathan exchanged passes with Fortaleza and unleashed a powerful shot from outside the area, forcing a great save from the goalkeeper, who parried it for a corner. From the corner, Londrina headed the ball and Samuel once again saved União, making a spectacular save. At 33 minutes, Victor took a strong shot aiming for the left corner, and the ball grazed the crossbar.

The second half was different, and Flamengo managed to translate their dominance into goals from the start. Three minutes in, Fortaleza crossed the ball and França, who had come on at halftime, scored the second. At 14 minutes, Fortaleza took a corner kick that Victor headed in unmarked to make it 3-0. At 20 minutes, it became a rout. Once again, Fortaleza, the team's playmaker this morning, made a beautiful individual play and crossed for França to chip the ball into the corner for another. The floodgates opened, and Uchoa scored the fifth at 27 minutes with a shot from the edge of the area. The sixth was scored by Adriel, showing opportunism after a cross from França at 29 minutes. There was still time for Falquer to score the seventh goal at 34 minutes with a header that hit the crossbar before going in, giving the game its final score.

Under-14 team loses on penalties.

Just like the Under-13 team, the Under-14 team also dominated the match from the first minute, but struggled to find the back of the net against their opponent, who finished fifth in the qualifying phase, throughout the game. They even hit the post in the 17th minute of the first half with a shot from João Pedro that deflected off the defense, but the ball stubbornly refused to go in. The final score of 0-0 led to a penalty shootout, and the Flamengo youth team were defeated 5-3, being eliminated from the Metropolitan Championship in their category.
