Flamengo's U-14 team, led by coach Leonardo Cherede, is enjoying a pleasant routine in the Copa Brasileirinho Internacional (formerly Copa Dadazinho), held in the interior of Minas Gerais. After debuting with a 3-0 victory over Cariri, from Ceará, and yesterday's 5-0 thrashing of Figueirense, today it was the turn of the Garotos do Ninho to overwhelm Matheus Leme (MG) team. The comfortable 4-0 score (João Vitor [2], Vitor Muller and Peterson) was built calmly, with absolute control of the action throughout the game, and with the opposing goalkeeper as the best man on the field, making great saves and preventing an even more elastic score.

Already guaranteed a place in the quarterfinals of the important and traditional competition, Mais Querido is preparing to face Bahia on Friday morning (12), at 9 am, again at the Imaculada Conceição Stadium, in Sarzedo, metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. Whoever passes will face the winner of the Minas Gerais duel between América MG and Futgol in the fight for a place in the grand final of the competition.

"Regarding today's game, I think our team did very well in building plays, showcasing a varied offensive repertoire and high technical quality. This allowed us to control possession and dominate the match, with a confident performance," said coach Leonardo Cherede, who added: 

"This competition is crucial for our athletes, allowing them to experience facing opponents from other states, with different playing styles than those they're used to in Rio de Janeiro. Now the competition is narrowing, and we're likely to face clubs from the Brazilian football elite, which will be a huge benefit for us. We're confident and strengthened, aware of the challenges we'll face, but certain that we're ready to face any opponent in our quest to win this important tournament," concluded Leonardo Cherede.
