Flamengo team reaches the semifinals of the competition

Flamengo debuted in the Friendship Cup last Thursday (August 20.08) with its under-15 team, and left the competition this Monday (August 24.08), despite a great campaign. The Rubro-Negro, who had a 100% success rate in the group stage, finishing the first stage of the Cup without conceding a goal, left the competition in the semifinals. The Mais Querido's debut in the tournament organized by the eternal red-black idol, Zico, was against Portuguesa, on Thursday (20.08). The boys from Gávea, who played in the first phase of Group E, beat Lusa 3-0, with goals from Lincoln and Patrick. The third goal of the match was an own goal.
On Friday (21.08) Flamengo faced the Haitian team Pérola Negra, with two goals from Vinicius. The final score was 2-0. On Saturday (22.08), Rubro-Negro ended the first phase of the competition by thrashing Atlético Mineiro. By beating Galo 4-0, Flamengo, in addition to eliminating the Minas team from the Friendship Cup, achieved the second best attack in the competition, and the best defense, with no goals conceded in the group stage.
Rubro-Negro advanced to the quarterfinals on Sunday (23.08), playing against Cruzeiro. The Most Beloved beat the Celeste team 3-1, again with two goals from Vinicius and one from Luan.
This Monday (24.08) Flamengo suffered its first defeat, in the semifinals of the competition. Rubro-Negro, who was looking for the second championship, lost to Fluminense by 2 to 0 and ended up saying goodbye to the tournament.
