The Under-15 team took to the field for the first time since finishing fifth in the World Championship in Austria last week, and won comfortably against Boavista 3-0 (João Pedro [2] and Diego) at CFZ, in the 19th round of the Taça Guanabara. The result keeps the team in sole possession of first place in the competition, now with 41 points. CWith a bye scheduled for the 20th round, Flamengo is preparing for the Brazil-Japan Friendship Cup next week, with all matches being played at CFZ. In the State Championship, the Garotos do Ninho (Flamengo's youth team) will only play again on September 8th, when they face Goytacaz in Campos.

Flamengo's youth team opened the scoring on their first attack of the game. Five minutes in, Ryan Luka was brought down just outside the penalty area. João Pedro took the free-kick and, thanks to a mistake by goalkeeper Caio, scored the first goal for Flamengo on a rainy Saturday morning at CFZ. At 17 minutes, Boavista threatened with a good free-kick from Paulo Victor. Christian made a great save, tipping the ball over for a corner.

Flamengo could have extended their lead five minutes into the second half with a header from Diego, but the referee called a dubious offside and disallowed the goal. Ten minutes later, Samuel made a beautiful long pass behind the central defense and Ryan Luka headed the ball, but goalkeeper Caio was well-positioned and made a safe save. The goal was brewing and came in the next play. At 12 minutes, Victor Hugo took a corner kick and, again, captain Diego rose and headed the ball. The ball went over Caio and into the back of the Boavista net. Less than a minute later, João Pedro made a beautiful individual play and shot across goal to make it 3-0, leaving Flamengo comfortable in the game and the victory well on track.

Even after six substitutions, Flamengo didn't stop attacking. In the 27th minute, Cauan Thimoteo delivered a superb pass to Felippe. He controlled the ball beautifully and unleashed a powerful shot that struck Caio's post. On the rebound, Oliveira shot over the goal.
