Another Saturday of doubleheaders in Gávea! In the first game of the day, Mengão's U-15 team thrashed Madureira 7-0 in the ninth round of the Guanabara Cup in that category. The goals for the Ninho Boys were scored by Joshua (2), Tallyson, Hidaka, David Viana (2), and Bidu. With the victory, Mengão now has 23 points in the competition and remains in second place.

The game
The match began with Flamengo taking the initiative and going on the attack. Just three minutes in, Tallyson took a shot from outside the box, forcing the goalkeeper to palm it away for a corner. It didn't take long for Mengão to open the scoring! In the 8th minute, João Paulo made a good play inside the box, dribbled past the defender, and simply passed the ball to Joshua, who tapped it into the net: 1-0.

In the 18th minute, the Mais Querido extended their lead! Hidaka delivered a great pass to Tallyson, who sped into the box, beat the goalkeeper, and fired a low shot to score the second goal for Flamengo: 2-0. The first half ended with Flamengo dominating the match.

After the break, Mengão reached the third goal with just 5 minutes remaining. Guilherme Santos crossed perfectly for Joshua to head home: 3-0. The red-and-black team gave Madureira no space, and they could barely get out of their own half.

In the 16th minute, Flamengo's fourth goal came naturally. Hidaka received the ball at the edge of the box and fired a beautiful shot into the goalkeeper's left corner: 4-0. Flamengo didn't slow down and continued attacking, until in the 22nd minute, a penalty was awarded in their favor. David Viana, who had just come on, slotted home with skill and extended the lead to 5-0.

Two minutes later, David scored again for Mengão! The striker capitalized on a rebound from goalkeeper Miguel and scored the sixth goal of the match: 6-0. To complete the rout, in the 32nd minute, Bidu received the ball in midfield, spun around his marker, and fired a powerful, stylish shot into the corner to make it 7-0 for Tricolor Suburbano.

After a draw in normal time, the U-17s beat Madureira on penalties 5-3 and get an extra point.

In the second game of the day, the U-17s took the field and tied with Madureira 1-1. Lorran scored the only goal for the red-and-black team. With the score tied, the match went to penalties. "Mais Querido" prevailed, winning 5-3, earning the extra point.

The game
Needing a win to climb the standings, Flamengo started the match at full throttle, pressing Madureira in their own half, looking for an early opener. And that's exactly what happened! Six minutes in, Lorran received the ball unmarked in midfield, drove the ball forward, and unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box to open the scoring at Gávea: 1-0.

The Tricolor Suburbano, for their part, didn't lag behind and risked attacking plays, threatening the red-and-black goal. In the 22nd minute, Igor Sales shot from distance; the ball bounced off the turf and surprised the red-and-black goalkeeper. Madureira equalized: 1-1. The Garotos do Ninho fought for a second goal, but the first half ended in a draw.

Early in the second half, Pietro took a corner from the right, the goalkeeper tapped it in, and the ball fell to Jonathan, who fired a shot against the crossbar. A great chance for the team from Gávea.

The Mais Querido (Most Beloved) dominated the attacking half, trying to create plays, but lacking in finishing. The tie persisted, and the match went to penalties to decide which team would get the extra point.

In the penalty shootout, the Ninho Boys won 5-3 and secured two more points in the league table.
