After beating Vasco in the quarterfinals (2-0) and Corinthians in the semifinals (3-0) of the Copa 2 de Julho in Salvador, Bahia, Flamengo's under-15 team was crowned champion of the competition, beating Bahia 2-0 in the final. The victory marked the arrival of another national title and a first for Gávea.

Playing at Pituaçu Stadium, the team knew the difficulties of facing a local opponent, but just three minutes into the first half, they opened the scoring with striker João, who took advantage of a beautiful assist from Ryan.

Even with the advantage, Flamengo continued to create chances to extend their lead. Bahia also tried to equalize, but were unsuccessful.

In the second half, the home team relied on pressing, giving Flamengo space to counterattack. Yuri overcame the opposing defense and extended Flamengo's lead. After the second goal, the team demonstrated maturity in managing the score and bringing another victory to Ninho do Urubu—their second in two weeks, following the Guanabara Cup title in the category.

The red-and-black boys also won the awards for best player (given to midfielder Yuri, the championship's revelation), midfielder Daniel, and best coach of the competition for Ramon Lima, who took over the team after winning the Guanabara Cup. Lima earned the position after Dudu Patetuci, then coach, was promoted to coach the under-16 category.

Carlos Noval, director of the Mais Querido youth academy, congratulated and praised the athletes and professionals involved in the title. "Congratulations to the athletes for their commitment to wearing the Sacred Mantle and their dedication on the field. It's a pleasure to see how they honor this jersey! Congratulations also to all the professionals on the youth academy coaching staff, who are doing an excellent job with the athletes, both technically and in their development," he said.

The director also emphasized the importance of yet another unprecedented achievement. "Winning a title for the first time is gratifying, and in a powerful national competition like the 2 de Julho, even better. It shows that the work is on the right track.
