On the morning of the double round held this Sunday (30) at the Luso-Brasileiro Stadium, on Ilha do Governador, the Garotos do Ninho did well. In duels valid for the second round of the Copa Rio, Mais Querido achieved two important victories in the competition. 

Opening the proceedings at 9 a.m., the U-15 team, led by coach Leonardo Cherede, scored for the second time in the Copa Rio. After beating Volta Redonda 5-0 in their debut, Flamengo didn't let their opponents down and increased their scoring tally. This time, they won 6-1 (Bill [3], Lorran, Gustavo, and Dudu). The result gives Flamengo the sole lead in the competition, with a 100% record and a positive goal difference of ten in just two rounds.

"I'm very pleased with our performance. What I always ask of them is a balanced yet attacking team, and that's what we showed on the field today. The boys are on a huge rise, which makes me very happy. Throughout the week, we'll fine-tune some details to enter the next round against Bangu even stronger," said coach Leonardo Cherede after the rout.

Immediately afterward, the U-16 team, led by Leo Ramos, who represents the U-17 team, took the field for a much more challenging duel. Also facing Portuguesa, the "Garotos do Ninho" (Ninho Boys) fell behind in the first half. But with a strong will and determination, they equalized through Adriel and turned the game around in the last minute with a crucial goal from striker Lucas Matheus. With the 2-1 victory (Adriel and Lucas Matheus), the Rubro-Negro team reached four points in the competition, remains undefeated, and climbs the standings. 

"We had good possession and created good plays in the first half. We needed to finish more often. In the second half, with Portuguesa's goal, we made some changes that helped us shoot more on goal and pose more danger to the opponent. This was crucial for us to achieve this comeback, which was so important for our team going into the rest of the competition," analyzed coach Leo Ramos.
