U-15 and U-17 win big in the Rio Cup
Categories are in first and fourth place, respectively
By John Pedro Ribeiro* - inPlaying this Wednesday morning (24), in Gávea, the under-15 and under-17 football teams won big and started the Taça Rio well. While the younger boys are leading the round, the under-17 kids are in fourth place, both in the classification zone.
For the under-15s, Mais Querido faced Portuguesa and won 5-1. This was considered the first round, however, on July 30, the third round was brought forward and, on that occasion, Rubro-negro beat Madureira 4-0, in Los Lários. At the moment, the Biggest in the World leads the Taça Rio with six points in two games played. The next duel will be Saturday (27), at 15 pm, against the Volta Redonda team at the rival's CT.
In the under-17s, Flamengo thrashed Portuguesa 4-0. Just like in the under-15s, the third round was played on July 30th, in Los Lários, ending in a 2-2 draw with Madureira. Rubro-Negro is in fourth place with five points. The boys' next match will be Saturday (27), at 13 pm, against Volta Redonda, at the opponent's training center.
