U-15 and U-17 defeat America in the Rio Cup
Flamengo's youth teams are leaders and third place, respectively
By John Pedro Ribeiro* - inOn the morning of last Wednesday (7), the Mengão under-15 and under-17 soccer teams took to the field and performed beautifully. The under-15 kids beat America 4-0 at CT Vale das Laranjeiras, with goals from Lucas Gabriel, Nicholas, João Alves and Ítalo. With the result, Rubro-Negro remains the leader of the second half. The under-17s were as efficient as the younger ones and, even without Patrick, Wesley, Vinicius Junior and Lincoln, who are with the Brazilian National Team, beat America 3-0, with goals from Bill, Luiz Henrique and Yuri and are third in the Taça Rio.

Flamengo remains undefeated in the U-15 Rio Cup with 15 points - five wins in five games. The Mais Querido's next match will be on Saturday (10), against Vasco in the sixth round. The Children's category classic is scheduled for 9 am, in Gávea.
The under-17s reached 13 points and rose to third place in the return leg of the competition. Mengão's next match will be on Saturday (10), against Vasco, at 11 am, in Gávea.
