The Garotos do Ninho hosted Boavista on Saturday morning (26), in Gávea, in a double round with matches valid for the fifth round of the Taça Rio, the second round of the U-15 and U-17 State Championships. Much superior to their opponents, both teams won their games – the U-17 by 2x1 (Braian and Vitor Gabriel), and the U-15 by 3x0 (Mayquinho, Lázaro and Negueba) – and remained in the lead of the Taça Rio, with perfect campaigns of five wins in five matches played.

The U-17s played under a blazing sun and had their first chance of the game in the 20th minute. Yuri shot from outside the box, but the goalkeeper made a solid save. In the 25th minute, Boavista narrowly avoided opening the scoring. After a scuffle in the box, Braian headed the ball off the line, but the ball hit the post. Victor Hugo then saved the Mais Querido. Flamengo opened the scoring in the 39th minute. After a strong challenge at the edge of the box, the ball fell to full-back Braian, who beat the defender and calmly tapped it over the bar past the goalkeeper, breaking the deadlock.

In the 11th minute of the second half, Vitor Gabriel made the most beautiful play of the entire match. He beat the defender with speed, took the lead, and with extreme skill, flicked the ball past the goalkeeper to score the Mais Querido's second goal of the game. A stunning goal! In the 19th minute, Boavista threatened, but Victor Hugo made an excellent save. In the 26th minute, Marx made a great individual play and shot from the edge of the box, but the goalkeeper made a good save. Boavista reduced the score in the 36th minute. After a turn inside the box, the forward fired a shot past Victor Hugo, leaving him with no chance to save, sealing the final score and another victory for the Garotos do Ninho in the competition.

The U-15 category kicked off Saturday's action, and Flamengo started the match in deadly fashion. In the first attack, less than a minute into the game, Marcos Felipe crossed, and Mayquinho opened the scoring. As Boavista's defender failed to clear the ball, Lázaro stole the ball and slotted it past the goalkeeper, scoring Flamengo's second goal a minute and a half into the game. In the 23rd minute, Mayquinho took a free kick, the goalkeeper rebounded, and Lázaro narrowly missed extending the lead. 

In the second half, just two minutes in, Mayquinho took a free kick and Diego headed it, which the goalkeeper made a great save. In the 27th minute, Rubro-Negro scored the third. The defense tried to build up play, and the ball fell to Negueba, who with great awareness, fired a shot into the right corner, but the goalkeeper was helpless. The ball even hit the post before going in. In the 33rd minute, Lázaro took a great shot from outside the box, but the goalkeeper made a great save, palming it away for a corner. In the 37th minute, Jhonata crossed, and Negueba rose to head it, only for the goalkeeper to save again. In the final play of the match, Daniel Cabral struck a first-time shot, and the ball hit the post. 

The two categories return to the field next Saturday, September 02.09nd, to face Fluminense in the derby for the sixth round. Both matches will take place in Xerém, at the Vale das Laranjeiras Training Center. The U-15s will play at 9 a.m., and the U-17s at 11 a.m.
