Flamengo's U-15 and U-17 teams hosted Botafogo this Saturday morning (09) in Gávea, in classic matches valid for the 7th round of the Rio Cup, the second half of the State Championship. The children's team maintained their 100% record in the first half and won 3-2 (Reinier, Lázaro and Caio). The youth team started losing, turned the tables in the second half, suffered another setback but did not give up and sought another comeback, incorporating the mystique of the red-and-black race and winning a classic full of emotion 4-3 (Yuri, Marx, Vitor Ricardo and Vitor Gabriel). With these results, the two categories are isolated leaders and undefeated in the Rio Cup. Both return to the field next weekend, when they face Vasco, a location still to be defined by the Federation.

In the 28th minute, Matheus Alves delivered a beautiful pass to Wendel, who chipped the ball past the goalkeeper. The ball capriciously hit the post. The defense cleared the rebound on the goal line, preventing the red-and-blacks' third goal of the match.

Flamengo had two minutes of inattention and suffered the comeback, with goals in the 32nd minute (from a penalty) and 33rd minute. Flamengo pressed hard until the final whistle and was rewarded in stoppage time. In the 40th minute, Marx took another corner kick with precision, which was headed by Vitor Ricardo, who swelled the net and tied the game. In the 41st minute, Yuri spun inside the box and fired a cross-shot, turning the game around once again and sending the Gávea stands into a frenzy. The result keeps the team in sole possession of the Taça Rio, now five points ahead of Botafogo.
