On Saturday morning, in Gávea, Flamengo's Under-15 and Under-17 teams took to the field to face Nova Iguaçu, and achieved their objective of maintaining their isolated leadership in their respective State Championships. Opening the proceedings, the Under-15s had difficulties but won 2-1 (Ryan Luka and Oliveira), reaching 32 points and remaining at the top of the table. The next game will be the classic against Fluminense, scheduled for Saturday (11) at 9 am, at the Laranjeiras Stadium.

With 26 minutes played, Daniel Campos received the ball at the edge of the penalty area, cut past his marker and shot with precision. The ball deflected off the defense and went very close to the left corner of goalkeeper Kayky's net. At 28 minutes, Kaiky took a dangerous free kick. Flamengo was the better team on the field and managed to open the scoring in the first half. At 37 minutes, Enzo made a beautiful pass through the defense and found Daniel Campos. With a first-time pass, he rolled the ball to Ryan Luka. Well-positioned and opportunistic, the Flamengo striker didn't miss and scored the first goal for the Flamengo youth team on Saturday morning at Gávea.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Nova Iguaçu created three dangerous chances, but goalkeeper Christian made several excellent saves for Flamengo. Flamengo regrouped, pressed forward, and almost extended their lead in the 15th minute. Ryan Luka received the ball inside the box and fired a powerful shot. Beyond Kayky's reach, the ball struck the post. 

In another attack at the 25-minute mark, Nova Iguaçu equalized with a goal from Luiz. This time, Christian couldn't do anything. Quickly, the Flamengo youth team regrouped and scored their second goal. At the 27-minute mark, Oliveira received the ball at the edge of the area and fired a powerful left-footed shot to put Flamengo back in front.

Looking to maintain their lead in the Guanabara Cup, the Flamengo youth team went on the attack from the start of the game. At seven minutes, Sidney received the ball near the area, got past his marker and shot hard, just wide of Renan's goal. The first goal came in the next play, at eight minutes, with Rodrigo Muniz finishing as a center forward after a pass from Lázaro. The second came at 23 minutes. Daniel Cabral gave a beautiful pass to Lázaro, who controlled the ball, entered the area and shot across goal, giving Renan no chance to save. 

Nova Iguaçu had a great chance to reduce the score with a penalty kick in the 30th minute. Andrey shot towards the corner, but the Flamengo goalkeeper Pedro Victor got to the ball and made the save, maintaining the comfortable lead for the home team. A third goal almost came in the first half. In the 47th minute, Yuri de Oliveira took a free kick and the ball grazed the Nova Iguaçu goal.

 

The second half began with a scare for Flamengo when Andrey headed the ball against Pedro Victor's post just four minutes in. At eight minutes, the referee showed a straight red card to João Gabriel, who had come on at halftime, after a foul in the center of the field. At 32 minutes, Ramon took a free kick with great skill, and the ball hit the left post of Renan's goal. Following that, Yuri de Oliveira set up Luis Gustavo in front of goal. His shot went just wide to the left of the Santos goal. On his second opportunity, Luis Gustavo didn't miss. In stoppage time, Braian carried the ball and passed to Luis Gustavo, who unleashed a powerful shot and scored a fantastic goal, sealing another victory for Flamengo's youth team in the Taça Guanabara.

Leaders of the Taça Guanabara now with 41 points, the Garotos do Ninho defend the isolated leadership of the competition in the classic against Fluminense, in a game scheduled for the Estádio das Laranjeiras, at 11 am next Saturday (11).
