In a match played this Thursday afternoon at CFZ, Flamengo's U-15 team, led by coach Mario Jorge, took to the field for the second round of the Friendship Cup qualifying round. Hampered by the poor conditions of the pitch at Campo Anexo, where the match took place, the "Mais Querido" pressed for most of the match but remained undefeated after a 0-0 draw against Boavista. The result leaves the "Garotos do Ninho" in second place in the group with four points. A draw in tomorrow's match against Atlético MG will guarantee Flamengo's spot in the quarterfinals. A simple victory will see Flamengo qualify in first place.

The game was difficult and highly physical, largely due to the small field and uneven turf. Even so, the Ninho Boys tried to assert themselves and, little by little, began to attack more. Ten minutes in, the first chance arose. Rodrigo made a great individual play on the right wing and passed to the penalty spot for Dudu, who shot first time toward goal, but had his shot blocked by the defense. In the 15th minute, Rodrigo again made an excellent play, evading his marker with a beautiful dribble and shooting across goal. Goalkeeper Victor made a good save and palmed the ball out for a corner.

Flamengo dominated the game, and Rodrigo excelled in the attack. In the 18th minute, he once again faced his marker, easily passed, and fired a low shot to the left of Victor's goal. The teams went to the locker room unchanged.

Just four minutes into the second half, Mais Querido created their best chance of the game so far. Petterson received the ball wide on the left wing and fired a powerful shot toward goal. The ball deflected off the defender and hit Victor's right post, but he couldn't reach it in time. In the ninth minute, Petterson tried again, this time with a first-time shot. His shot was wide, and Victor made the save.

The second half was between Petterson and Victor. In the 14th minute, the red-and-black striker unleashed another bomb. Victor palmed the ball into the middle of the box, and the defense cleared the danger. The Boys from the Nest pressed forward, looking for their first goal and a spot in the quarterfinals. In the 25th minute, João Filipe received the ball at the edge of the box and fired a cross, but his shot was blocked by the defense, in the Mais Querido's last chance of the match.

Coach: Mario Jorge.
