Saturday was a double victory for Flamengo's U-15 team. Split between two camps, as an alternate team will defend its sole lead in the State Championship over the next few weeks, while the main team, led by coach Mario Jorge, is in Salvador seeking its second Copa 2 de Julho title (one of the two main competitions in the category, alongside the Copa Votorantim), the Rubro-Negro came through its first challenge in both competitions well. 

In the morning, at Gávea Stadium, the Mais Querido defeated Bonsucesso 3-1, with a major comeback in the final minutes of the match. In the afternoon, at Pituaçu Stadium in Bahia, Flamengo debuted in the Copa 2 de Julho with another victory, this time by a score of 3-1 (Victor Hugo [2] and Ryan Luka), and leads Group A of the competition alongside Bahia, who also defeated Juazeiro 3-1 in the preliminary round. The Garotos do Ninho return to the field on Monday, when they face Estrela de Março at 15:30 pm, again at Pituaçu Stadium. The top two teams in each group will qualify for the knockout stage of this important competition.

Flamengo dominated the field from the first minute and settled the game in the first half. Flamengo opened the scoring in the fourth minute, when João Pedro made a good play and crossed for Victor Hugo, who tapped it into the back of the net. In the seventh minute, the play repeated itself, but left-back Richard made the pass. Victor Hugo, again well-positioned, added another. The Boys from the Nest were much better on the field than their opponents, and scored the third in the 13th minute. Richard made a great play and passed the ball into the box to Ryan Luka. He broke free from his marker and struck beautifully, further extending the Mais Querido's lead. In the 15th minute, the Bolivian team reduced the deficit.

In the second half, the red-and-blacks' pressure was intense. Many chances were created, but the Bolivians remained behind the ball, simply defending, but they achieved their goal of avoiding a rout. The "Garotos do Ninho" (The Boys of the Nest) close the first round jointly leading Group A of the competition, alongside Bahia.
