A goal factory. That's how Flamengo's U-15 team, led by coach Leonardo Cherede, performed in the first three rounds of the Guanabara Cup. After thrashing Bangu 8-0 in their debut match and Portuguesa 5-0 in the second round, today's victim was Barra da Tijuca, in a match played at the Nova Iguaçu Training Center. Another 8-0 victory (Matheus França [2], João Vitor [2], Darlan [2], Mandovani, and Petterson) and the incredible 21 goals scored and none conceded after just three games in the competition. In the next round, Flamengo travels to Volta Redonda to face the home team, on a date yet to be confirmed by the FERJ.

In the fifth minute, Wesley crossed to Cauan Emanuel, who headed the ball over the bar. In the 15th minute, Matheus França led a counterattack, escaped a defensive miss, and passed to João Vitor, who fired a powerful but high shot. The red-and-blacks' superiority resulted in a goal in the 19th minute. The play began with goalkeeper Francisco Dyogo, making his season debut. He delivered a superb pass to João Vitor, who made a great individual play and passed the ball perfectly to Matheus França, who tapped it into the back of the net and opened the scoring for the Ninho Boys. 

Flamengo continued to attack in search of a second goal. In the 23rd minute, Cauan Emanuel unleashed a powerful shot, but goalkeeper Carlão made a great save. Flamengo, who were far superior on the field, extended their lead in the 30th minute. After a poor clearance by the Barra da Tijuca defense, Darlan intercepted the ball and carried it unmarked into the penalty area to score Flamengo's second goal on Thursday morning. There was still time for the third goal before halftime, thanks to a superb individual play by Matheus França. The number ten dribbled past four opponents before scoring a truly stunning goal.

The second half began, and the rout arrived just two minutes in, with another goal from Darlan, appearing as a surprise man inside the box. The fifth came in the seventh minute, with a touch of great awareness and skill from Petterson, who had come on at halftime. In the 11th minute, a special moment. The referee awarded a penalty in favor of Barra da Tijuca. Julinho took the shot to the corner, and goalkeeper Francisco Dyogo jumped on it and made the save without giving away a rebound.

In the 13th minute, Mandovani scored the sixth goal for the Ninho Boys with a header. The seventh was scored by João Vitor, from the penalty spot, in the 24th minute. In the 33rd minute, Cohen made a good run down the right wing and crossed for João Vitor, who headed in the eighth, sealing the score and the club's third rout in three rounds of the competition.

In the second leg in Nova Iguaçu, the U-17 team, which had also won the first two rounds, took the field but failed to deliver the same performance. Despite dominating possession and controlling the action throughout the match, the "Garotos do Ninho" failed to break down the opposing defense and drew 0-0 in regulation time. In the penalty shootout, which is required by the rules in the event of a draw in regulation time, the red-and-black team won 4-2, with Gabriel Noga, Caio, Pedro Arthur, and Peçanha scoring, and goalkeeper Bruno saving a penalty, as well as a shot that went wide against Barra da Tijuca. With this, "Mais Querido" earned two points and reached eight in the competition's overall points tally.
