U-15s thrashed Goytacaz and capped off Saturday's victory for the red-black youth team
U-15, U-17 and U-20 win the State Championship in Gávea, and the U-17 starting team is champion in England.
By Ian Sena - inCapping off a more than victorious Saturday for the Flamengo youth team, the U-15 team, led by coach Mario Jorge, took the field and thrashed Goytacaz 6-0 (Rodrigo, João Filipe, Petterson, Vitor Muller, João Marcelo, and Londrina) in a match valid for the second round of the Rio Cup. With this, the "Garotos do Ninho" (The Boys of the Nest) ended the day with victories in the State Championships in the U-15, U-17, and U-20 categories, in addition to the title won by the main U-17 team at the UM U-18 Summer Tournament in England. The youth team is getting stronger and stronger!
The Mais Querido started the game at a frenetic pace, opening the scoring just two minutes into the match. Petterson sped the ball into the box, then passed it perfectly to Rodrigo, who simply had to finish. A minute later, João Filipe attempted a casual shot from outside the box, but goalkeeper Kauã saved it. In the 13th minute, Petterson unleashed a powerful shot that hit the post and ended up in the back of the Campos team's net. It was the third goal for the red-and-black team in less than 15 minutes. The rout came before halftime, with a Vitor Muller header in the 32nd minute.
The second half began much the same way as the first: Flamengo scored in the third minute, with a cross-shot from Joao Marcelo. Literally in the dying seconds, Londrina headed in the sixth, rounding off another rout for the Mais Querido in the U-15 State Championship.
