In a classic match played this Friday morning (31) at CFZ, valid for the quarterfinals of the Brazil-Japan Friendship Cup, Flamengo's U-15 team played better and wasted many goal chances, but was defeated 3-1 (Ryan Luka) by Botafogo, playing once again on the terrible grass of field 1 of the place. Thus, the Garotos do Ninho are eliminated and postpone for a year the dream of the fifth championship of the competition. Now, Mais Querido returns to focus on the Guanabara Cup, a competition in which it is the isolated leader. The next duel will be on Saturday (08) against Goytacaz, in Campos.

The first chance fell to Flamengo. In the ninth minute, João Pedro took a dangerous free kick, and goalkeeper Marcelo palmed it away for a corner. Oliveira then sent a corner kick to Ryan, who confidently headed it in, but the ball sailed just wide of Botafogo's goal. In the 15th minute, Victor Hugo headed the ball, and Marcelo was alert enough to make a good save. The best chance came in the 34th minute. After a long ball, Ryan headed it back, and the ball went millimeters wide of Botafogo's left post. The first half ended with Flamengo far superior on the field, but the score still unchanged.

The second half seemed to start the same way. In the first minute, Oliveira wasted a great opportunity when the ball fell to his feet unmarked inside the box. His shot was weak, making it easy for Marcelo to save. However, in the sixth minute, after a free kick in the red-and-black box, Matheus Nascimento headed in to open the scoring for the black-and-white team.

The Mais Querido (the most beloved team) went on the attack. In the ninth minute, Diego launched a pass, Ryan Luka challenged for it, and the ball fell to João Pedro. He fired a first-time shot into the net from the outside. The equalizer wasn't long in coming. In the tenth minute, Kaiky made a great switch, Oliveira headed the ball into the middle of the box, and Ryan Luka, again well-positioned, bulged the net for his fifth goal of the competition. The pressure was intense. In the eleventh minute, Oliveira crossed, the ball went past the goalkeeper but was just a little high for João Pedro, who couldn't find the balance needed to direct the ball into the net. 

Flamengo was the better team and created the better chances, but from another set piece, Botafogo scored the second. Felipe headed the ball, which deflected off the defense and deceived goalkeeper Christian, who was helpless to prevent the goal. In the 19th minute, Piauí struck hard, and Christian made a good save. As Flamengo tried to press, in the 28th minute, Botafogo scored again, again with Matheus Nascimento, tapping it in past Christian. The Boys from the Nest didn't give up and pushed for the equalizer until the end. In the 32nd minute, Diego headed the ball wide from an open goal. It was the last scoring chance of the derby.
