Under-16s win the return leg of the Guilherme Embry Tournament
The result puts Flamengo in the final stage of the competition.
By Communication - Official Club Website - inThe red-black youth team once again proved its strength and, this Tuesday (15.09), won the return leg of the Guilherme Embry Tournament. Organized by the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation (FERJ), this is one of the most important youth tournaments in the state.
The Mais Querido hosted Vasco at Gávea and, with goals from Alison, Marques and Bill, won 3-0. The result meant Flamengo finished the second half in first place, with 16 points.
Thus, the Red-Black team qualified for the final stage. In this stage, Fluminense (first-round champion), Flamengo (second-round champion), and Botafogo (highest overall score excluding the top two) face off in a two-legged triangle. The team with the most points in this stage wins the competition. According to the rules, Flamengo and Fluminense start with one extra point due to their initial stage placements.
