U-16 draws with Portuguesa in the Guilherme Embry Tournament
After a 1-1 draw in normal time, Garotos do Ninho won the penalty shootout 5-3 and secured the extra point.

In a match valid for the second round of the Guilherme Embry Tournament, the State Championship for the category, the Garotos do Ninho struggled to impose their ball touch on the poor turf and drew with Portuguesa da Ilha 1 (5) x 1 (3) (Gabriel dos Santos). The 5-3 victory in penalty kicks gave the bonus point to the Mais Querido, who now has five points from two games in the competition. In the next round, the Rubro-Negro will host Vasco, in Gávea. The classic is scheduled for the 23rd, at 9 am.
Six minutes into the match, Peçanha made a brilliant individual play. The number 10 charged into the opposing defense, dribbled past three defenders, and fired a cross-shot. The ball went straight to Lázaro, who missed it by inches to open the scoring for the Garotos do Ninho. Lusa Carioca reached the 16th minute. Robert struck hard, and Bernardo, well-positioned, palmed it away for a corner. In the 20th minute, Jean Carlos passed the ball to Lázaro. The striker burst into the box and fired a low shot that Lucas Godoy made a solid save.
Rubro-Negro nearly opened the scoring in the 29th minute. Lázaro crossed to Jean Carlos, who headed the ball from the edge of the six-yard box, but Lucas Godoy made a great save. Gabriel dos Santos, who had just come on for Jean Carlos, made a good play and initiated a triangulation that passed through Samuel before Peçanha received the ball unmarked inside the box. His shot, however, was weak and into the hands of the goalkeeper.
A minute later, Peçanha found his caliber and unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box, drawing another excellent save from Lucas Godoy. The equalizer came in the 32nd minute. Mayquinho took a superb free kick, Gabriel Santos rose higher than the defense and headed the ball over the goalkeeper, leveling the score. The breakthrough almost came in the 40th minute. Rykelmo delivered a beautiful pass behind the defense to Marcos Felipe. The right-back burst into the box and chipped the ball past the goalkeeper, but the ball capriciously clipped the post and went to the left of Portuguesa's goal.
In the penalty shootout, Flamengo was flawless, scoring all five shots. Bernardo saved Hugo Fernandes' shot, and Flamengo left Figueira de Melo with the bonus point, now five points in the standings after two games.
