Just two games were enough for Flamengo's U-16 team to reverse the disadvantage of being the only team to enter the final triangular of the Guilherme Embry Tournament with zero points (Botafogo and Fluminense started the final phase of the competition with a bonus point for having won both rounds of the classification phase), and finish the first round of the decisive phase in sole leadership of the triangular, with 5 points won, ahead of Botafogo (4 points) and Fluminense (2 points).

After debuting in the final triangular with a 2-1 comeback victory over Botafogo last Saturday, the Mais Querido returned to the field on Wednesday morning (01) to face Fluminense, in Xerém. The classic was very even throughout the 90 minutes, and ended with a score of 0-0. The competition rules provide for a penalty shootout after any draw, giving a bonus point to the winner. More focused and knowing the importance of this extra point, the Rubro-Negro won 5-3 (Braian, Hugo, Lucas Gabriel, Gomes and Yuri de Oliveira converted the shots, and João Fernando secured the victory with a penalty on the right side), obtained the bonus point and took the lead in the final triangular.

The Garotos do Ninho return to the field for the Guilherme Embry Tournament next Wednesday (08), at 9 am, when they visit Botafogo, at CEFAT.
