This Wednesday (13), Fla will have another important commitment in the Guilherme Embry Tournament. Undefeated in the competition with three wins and one draw, the Garotos do Ninho face Nova Iguaçu away from home, at 9 am. Second place with 11 points, one less than the leader Botafogo, Fla needs to win the victory and hope that the team from General Severiano does not win the classic against Vasco, at 15 pm, to take the lead in the competition. 

The Mais Querido will be missing two players for this match: full-back Caio and forward Pedro Arthur, who are currently at Granja Comary for the Brazilian U-17 team's week of training. After this morning's training session, coach Ramom Lima spoke about the absence of these players and the importance of the match against Nova Iguaçu.

"Every game is a final because it's a points-based competition. It will be a tough match against a strong opponent who always poses a challenge. We hope to do our best even with the absences. We played like that against Vasco too and performed well. We believe we're on the right track and will once again try to do our best. We'll have help from some U-15 athletes and hope to put in a great performance and come away with the result. If Botafogo stumbles, we'll take the lead in the competition."

The Guilherme Embry Tournament is the state championship for the U-16 category, contested since 2013 using a points system in three phases: first round, second round, and final round. At the end of each round, the first-place team is declared champion of that round and automatically qualifies for the tournament final.
