U-16 debuts in the final triangular of the Guilherme Embry Tournament with defeat
In a balanced classic at CEFAT, Garotos do Ninho lost to Botafogo 1-0.

And in the clash between the round champions, it was better for the black and white team, which defeated the Mais Querido by 1x0, in a duel held on the afternoon of this Saturday (10), at CEFAT, in Niteroi. The next game for Rubro-Negro will be at Gávea, against Fluminense, in the third round of the final round.

The match began cautiously and fiercely contested in midfield. Flamengo's first attack came in the eighth minute. Caio delivered a perfect cross for Weverton to tap into the net, but the referee signaled offside, stopping the good play by the "Mais Querido" (Flamengo's nickname). In their second attack, the "Garotos do Ninho" (Flamengo's youth team) almost opened the scoring. In the 24th minute, Mayquinho passed to Samuel. The Flamengo winger outmuscled the defender, cut inside, and fired a low left-footed shot towards the corner, forcing a spectacular save from João, who stretched to his full extent to parry the ball for a corner and prevent Flamengo's goal.
Flamengo had their first attack of the second half, also in the eighth minute, just as they had in the first half. Rykelmo, who came on at halftime to replace Mayquinho, made a good pass to Pedro Arthur. He spotted Caio's run, who shot hard but was blocked by the defense. From the resulting corner, Caio almost surprised goalkeeper João with his cross, hitting the crossbar. On the rebound, Dhouglas unleashed a powerful shot, which went over the Botafogo goal.
Botafogo threatened in the 14th minute when Leo Costa found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Bruno. The Flamengo goalkeeper made a brilliant save, closing down the angle, rising to the occasion, and making a fine save. In the next play, Bruno delivered a great pass to Samuel. He dribbled forward at speed and saw Filipe Chrysman making a run through the middle. But the Botafogo defense recovered well and cleared the ball for a corner. The match was becoming more open and exciting.
At 18 minutes, Flamengo threatened again. Dhouglas delivered a beautiful pass through the center of the opposing defense to Filipe Chrysman. The center forward shot hard and precisely, with the ball on target. But João made a superb save, even preventing a rebound for Pedro Arthur, who was ready to tap it into the net. In the next play, Botafogo opened the scoring. Padela made a beautiful individual play and crossed perfectly for Marquinhos, who only had to push the ball into the goal.
The Flamengo youth team went on the attack in search of an equalizer. In the 23rd minute, with his first touch of the ball in the game, Jean Carlos advanced with great speed and crossed to Filipe Chrysman, who almost reached the ball with a sliding tackle and scored. In the 34th minute, Caio took a dangerous free kick, and the ball went close to João's right post. In Flamengo's last opportunity of the game, Jean Carlos shot over the goal. After this round, Botafogo leads the final triangular group with four points. Flamengo has one point, and Fluminense has zero.
