In 2018, Flamengo's U-16 team enchanted the world and became undefeated champions of the Dubai International Championship., the world championship in the category. Reinier shone, Daniel Cabral was named the tournament's best player, and Jean Carlos came off the bench to score the stoppage-time goal that kept the title dream alive in the final against Real Madrid. Who will be the stars of the show in 2019?

The Boys of the Nest, led by coach Mário Jorge, landed earlier this week in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where, starting this Thursday (11), they will begin their quest for their second world championship in the category. And right in the first challenge, a European giant will face them. Flamengo debuts against Atlético de Madrid (Spain). On Saturday (13), the opponent will be Al-Nasr (United Arab Emirates). The Mais Querido closes its participation in the group stage facing Hatta Club (United Arab Emirates), on Monday (15). All matches will take place at 9:45 am (Brasília time), and can be watched live in Brazil through the DMI (Dubai Media Incorporated) – CCVD Channel app.

In the other group, Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Shabab Al Ahli (United Arab Emirates), Al Wasl (United Arab Emirates), and Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia) compete for the two spots. The top two teams in each group will face each other in the semifinals.

"Our expectations for the competition are the best possible. We traveled with a full squad, without any injuries, which is very important for a high-level tournament like this. We're confident of making a great debut tomorrow against a great opponent, but also showing the world once again the greatness of Flamengo. The conditions are the best possible, the pitch is excellent, which favors our style of play. We're going full steam ahead in pursuit of our goals," said coach Mario Jorge.
