Current champion of the Guilherme Embry Under-16 Tournament, Flamengo faces Piscinão de Ramos this Wednesday (26), at 9 am, in Gávea, for the 9th round of the second round of the competition. Throughout the first round, Flamengo and Botafogo fought side by side for the title, which slipped away by a narrow margin. Leader of the second round with 21 points, Fla arrives at the last round needing a simple victory over the bottom team to win the symbolic title and guarantee a place in the final triangular with a bonus point.

Undefeated for four rounds, the Flamengo youth team is focused on winning their second consecutive championship. The week has been filled with hard work to achieve this goal, assures coach Leonardo Cherede.

“Expectations are very high. Our goal was to win the second round since we didn't manage it in the first. We want to reach the final triangular with a one-point advantage, so we can then fight for the Guilherme Embry Tournament title. We had two very good days of training, and the group really wants this victory. We will approach the match against Piscinão with commitment and seriousness, aiming to get the three points and secure the title.”

In the first leg, on July 11th, Flamengo's youth team won 5-0, with goals from Felipinho (2), Hugo, Vinicius and Mayquinho. Throughout the championship, Flamengo played 17 matches, with 14 wins, two draws and one loss. Meanwhile, Palmeiras has only one win in the tournament, four draws and 12 losses.
