In a match held on Friday morning (24) in Gávea, Flamengo's U-16 team defeated Boavista 3-1 (Wiverson [2] and João Pedro), in a match valid for the third round of the first round of the Guilherme Embry Tournament, the State Championship of the category. The good victory keeps Mais Querido with 100% success in the competition. In the next round, Flamengo visits Barra da Tijuca, at Arena Interfut.

The Red-Blacks opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Richard reached the baseline well and crossed perfectly for Wiverson, who displayed the skill and composure to tap it into the back of the net and score the first goal for the Red-Blacks at Gávea. Boavista equalized in the 22nd minute, with a left-footed shot from Sidnei. The Boys from the Nest maintained their concentration and took the lead again in the 34th minute, with a very opportunistic goal from Wiverson. In the 36th minute, João Pedro shot from the edge of the box, but goalkeeper Felipe made a confident save.

After a locker room chat with coach Ramon Lima, the team returned with a more focused approach for the second half, extending their lead within the first minute. Daniel Campos picked up the ball in midfield and made a great play, carrying it to the edge of the box and delivering a beautiful pass to João Pedro. The number 11 dribbled past the goalkeeper and tapped in for the third goal for Mais Querido. The rout nearly came in the 18th minute, when João Pedro appeared unmarked and fired a cross that drew a great save from Felipe. In the 25th minute, in the last scoring chance for the Garotos do Ninho of the match, Pablo took a shot from outside the box, but the ball grazed the Bacaxá team's right post.
