In a match played on Sunday night (20) at the Alceu Carvalho Stadium, the Mais Querido U-17 team drew 1-1 (Daniel Cabral) with Athlético Paranaense, in a duel valid for the fourth round of the group stage of the Copa Santiago. The result leaves the Garotos do Ninho, led by coach Phelipe Leal, in third place in Group A with five points won, and a victory against Palmeiras in the last round, in a game scheduled for next Tuesday (22) at 21:30 pm, will guarantee the Rubro-Negro's classification for the knockout stage of the international competition. 

The first goal-scoring chance of the game fell to Atlético. Jajá headed the ball unmarked, but goalkeeper Bruno, who was well-positioned, made a solid save. The pitch was in poor condition due to the heavy rains that had fallen in the Rio Grande do Sul city of Santiago over the past week, making the red-and-blacks' attacking play very difficult. In the 14th minute, Weverton received the ball at the edge of the box and fired a cross-shot. Paulo made the save with ease. And that was all that happened throughout the first half.

The victory practically qualified Flamengo, and the "Garotos do Ninho" returned from the locker room determined to secure the three points. Just two minutes in, Lázaro took a shot from outside the box, but Paulo made the save without rebounding. In the fourth minute, João Gabriel made a great play from the baseline and crossed perfectly for Weverton, but the defense cleared at the right moment, preventing the Flamengo center forward from finishing. Flamengo was the better team on the field, but it was the team from Paraná who opened the scoring, with a goal from Luan Patrick in the sixth minute. 

The Boys of the Nest didn't give up and kept fighting. In the 12th minute, Luis Gustavo crossed and Weverton headed the ball wide of the opponent's goal. The equalizer almost came in the 19th minute, with a beautiful shot from outside the box by Daniel Cabral. The ball just missed Paulo's goal. The pressure from Mais Querido was intense, and the equalizer finally came in style in the 40th minute of the second half. Jean Carlos crossed into the box, and Daniel Cabral met it first time, squeezing it into the net and scoring a truly stunning goal, leveling the score and giving the final score a little more justice.
