In a match played on Wednesday afternoon (29) at Pituaçu Stadium, in Salvador, Flamengo's U-17 team, led by coach Phelipe Leal, played a solid match and comfortably defeated Bahia by a score of 3-1 (Daniel Cabral, Lázaro and Vinícius Barcellos own). The good result gives the Garotos do Ninho the vice-leadership of Group B, with 14 points won, alongside São Paulo and Corinthians. The opponent in the next round will be São Paulo, in a duel scheduled for Thursday (06), at 16:30 pm, in the capital of São Paulo. With a draw, the Mais Querido will mathematically guarantee its classification for the quarterfinal stage of the Brazilian Championship.

A victory was crucial for the "Garotos do Ninho" (Nest Boys), who went in search of a goal from the opening whistle. The first came just eight minutes into the game, with Daniel Cabral firing a shot into the left corner of goalkeeper Rafael Baia's box, who just watched. Bahia threatened in the 24th minute, with a fine shot from Marcelo Ryan that went just wide of Bruno's goal. The Mais Querido's second goal narrowly missed the target in the 34th minute, when, after a strong attacking move and a cross from Caio into the box, the ball deflected off the defender and nearly caught Marcelo Ryan off guard, who made a great save. 

A minute later, Pedro Arthur passed to Caio, but the goalkeeper closed the corner at the right moment and blocked the Flamengo left-back's shot. In Flamengo's final attacking moment before halftime, Daniel Cabral took a chance from outside the box, but the ball sailed over the Bahia goal.

The game was evenly balanced in the second half. In the 13th minute, Lázaro hit a cross-shot, but goalkeeper Marcelo Ryan made the save without rebounding. In the 18th minute, Flamengo extended their lead. Maycon, who had just come on, made a good play and passed to Daniel Cabral. He hit a cross-shot, and as he attempted to clear it, defender Vinicius Barcellos scored an own goal. The championship's top scorer was still waiting for a goal, and it arrived in the 24th minute. After a beautiful pass from Maycon, Lázaro chipped the ball over the bar and scored a stunning goal, his eighth of the competition. A minute later, João Pedro made a great individual play to pull one back for the home team, sealing another victory for the red-and-blacks in the competition.
