U-17 defeats Novorizontino and is in the quarterfinals of the BH Cup
A 5-1 rout confirms the Garotos do Ninho among the top eight teams in the country in this category. Their next opponent will be Vitória.
By Ian Sena - inFlamengo's U-17 team continues to improve with each game in the Taça BH, the second largest competition in the category in the country. After defeating Ponte Nova, Paraná and Grêmio in the group stage, the Garotos do Ninho returned to the field on Tuesday night (18) to face Novorizontino, in a match valid for the round of 16 of the competition. With a great collective performance, the Rubro-Negro did not suffer any scares and easily defeated the team from the interior of São Paulo 5-1 (Vitor Ricardo [2], Marx, Rhyan and Luan). The result puts the Mais Querido in the quarterfinals of the competition. The next opponent will be Vitória, in a game scheduled for Thursday (20), at 7 pm, again in the city of Rio Doce.
Aware of their technical superiority, Flamengo took the field with a serious attitude and quickly took a 2-0 lead. In the 7th minute, after a rebound in the box, the ball fell to Vitor Ricardo, who turned and fired a low cross, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. In the 12th minute, Rhyan was awarded a penalty, and Marx skillfully converted the second. In the 19th minute, Novorizontino pulled one back. But nothing to faze the "Garotos do Ninho" (Nest Boys), who quickly opened up a lead again. In the 26th minute, Rhyan controlled the ball in the crescent and struck a powerful, high shot, scoring a beautiful goal that the goalkeeper couldn't stop.

In the second half, the Mais Querido managed the victory, using a clinical approach to kill off the game and build on the rout. In the 14th minute, Rhyan challenged for the ball in the air and swept it to Luan, who fired a low shot from just outside the box, capitalizing on the goalkeeper's error to score the fourth. The fifth came in the 24th minute. Matheus controlled the ball in the center circle and passed it to Vitor Ricardo, who outwitted the goalkeeper and fired a superb shot from a near-angle, securing another victory for the red-and-blacks in the competition, their fourth in four games, maintaining their 100% record.
