U-17 and U-15 teams beat Tigres in Gávea and maintain 100% success in the Rio Cup
Ninho Boys lead the second round of the State Championship in both categories
By Ian Sena - inIn a match valid for the third round of the Taça Rio Sub-17, Flamengo defeated Tigres 2-0 (Luan and Vitor Ricardo) on Saturday morning (12), at Gávea, and maintained 100% success and leadership of the second round of the State Championship in the category.
At 4 minutes, the Flamengo youth team had their first shot on goal. Luan took a good shot from outside the box, but the goalkeeper made the save. At 17 minutes, Flamengo opened the scoring. Pablo went to the byline and crossed into the box for Luan to volley home a beautiful goal. At 30 minutes, Yuri shot from the edge of the box and almost scored a second. The ball grazed the right post of the Tigres goal.

At the start of the second half, in the 5th minute, Flamengo came close to scoring. Vitor Gabriel almost extended the lead, but the defender cleared the ball off the line. In the 7th minute, Tigres had their best chance of the entire game, but Victor Hugo saved Flamengo and kept the youngsters ahead. In the 11th minute, Flamengo scored again. Gomes delivered a beautiful pass, leaving Vitor Ricardo one-on-one with the goalkeeper. He showed composure and skill to chip the ball past the goalkeeper and score Flamengo's second goal of the game, further boosting the team's confidence.
Flamengo took to the field with Victor Hugo, Braian, Natan, Vinícius, Pablo, Gomes (Yuri de Oliveira), Luan (Rhyan), Matheus Alves, Vitor Gabriel, Yuri and Vitor Ricardo. Coach: Marcio Torres.
U-15 also wins
In the morning, in a match valid for the third round of the Taça Rio, the Under-15 team also hosted Tigres at Gávea, winning mercilessly 8-0 (Reinier [3], Hugo, Gabriel Noga, Samuel [2] and Lázaro), and just like the Under-17 team, also maintained a 100% success rate in the competition.
Both categories return to the field next Saturday (19), when they face Madureira, at the Conselheiro Galvão Stadium.
