In a match valid for the final of the Rio Sub-17 Cup, Flamengo received Botafogo on Sunday afternoon (29), in Gávea. The classic, very disputed and with rough plays, ended in a 2x2 draw (Vitor Gabriel and Patrick), a result that gave the title of the second round to Botafogo and that forces the dispute of two more games, in the next two weekends, which will be worth the title of the Carioca Championship of the category.

The game started tensely, with some violent plays that highlighted the fierce rivalry between the two teams in the division. After a poor start, Botafogo opened the scoring in the 17th minute. The referee awarded a penalty to Pablo after a move in the box where, theoretically, the ball hit his hand. Glauber took a good shot, leaving Victor Hugo with no chance to save, who headed the ball into the corner but couldn't reach the ball. Botafogo pushed forward in search of a comeback, the only result they needed. In the 19th minute, Yuri hit a powerful cross that André saved. In the 30th minute, Yuri took a free kick that André made a good save. Vitor Gabriel headed the corner kick weakly into André's hands, but he slapped it away. Luan's shot hit the post, and top scorer Vitor Gabriel made the opportunistic save to equalize.

In the 35th minute, Patrick took a free kick, and André held on tight this time. The breakthrough came in the 37th minute. Wendel was brought down at the edge of the box. Luan took the shot, the ball deflected off the wall and fell to Patrick, who struck hard to score the second for the Ninho Boys, who went to the locker room with the lead. 

The Ninho Boys returned for the second half knowing they needed just one more goal to become state champions. And they went for it. Just three minutes in, Yuri took a corner kick, and Ari rose high, heading dangerously. Botafogo threatened in the ninth minute with Pimenta, but Ari arrived at the right moment and blocked the shot. In the 18th minute, Rhuan hit a powerful shot from the edge of the box, but Victor Hugo, well-positioned, made the save without any problems. Botafogo equalized in the 24th minute, with a free kick from Rhuan. Victor Hugo still had a light touch on the ball, but not enough to prevent the goal. 

Flamengo attacked again, and in the 32nd minute, Vitor Ricardo nearly scored the third, but his shot went wide of the black-and-white goal. In the 34th minute, Yuri was blocked at the edge of the box, and the ball fell to Leandro, who fired a powerful shot to André's right. Flamengo was pressing hard. In the 36th minute, Wendel took on the defense and fired a powerful left-footed shot over Botafogo's goal. In the 41st minute, Yuri took a free kick, and the ball flew just wide of André's left post. The pressure was intense, and the last chance came in stoppage time. The ball fell to Vitor Gabriel, well-positioned in the box, but his shot went over the bar.

The U-17 State Championship finals will be played over two weekends. The first leg will be played at Engenhão, and the second leg, which will decide the title, will be played at Gávea, as Flamengo had the better campaign throughout the competition.
