U-17 draws with Palmeiras in Gávea and misses out on the Copa do Brasil final
After conceding two goals, Garotos do Ninho sought a draw twice and almost turned it around, but in the sum of the results they are out of the final of the competition.
By Ian Sena - inFlamengo's U-17 team hosted Palmeiras on Thursday afternoon (16) at Gávea Stadium in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil semifinal, after suffering a 4-1 defeat last week. Needing to win 3-0, the Garotos do Ninho started the game by putting pressure on their opponents and creating good scoring chances. But in two blunders, they saw the São Paulo team open up a 2-0 lead, making qualification very unlikely. In the second half, Flamengo twice sought to equalize, but the final score of 3-3 (Patrick, Yuri and Vitor Gabriel) was not enough to give the Mais Querido a spot in the final, which now turns its attention to the finals of the Campeonato Carioca, against Botafogo. The first game will be this Sunday (19) at 9 am, at Engenhão, and the second and decisive game is scheduled for the 26th, at 10 am, at Gávea.

Yuri was subsequently brought down in the box. Patrick took the shot and reduced the deficit for the "Mais Querido." Flamengo pushed forward and equalized in the 13th minute with Vitor Gabriel. But just as the Rubro-Negro were playing well and a glimmer of hope seemed to emerge, Palmeiras scored the third with Bernardo.
