After beating Portuguesa 6-0 in the final round of the Taça Guanabara, Fla begins the return leg of the tournament this Saturday (23), at 13 pm, against Cabofriense, at Correão stadium, in Cabo Frio. In third place in the competition with 29 points and a campaign that includes eight wins, three draws and one loss, Rubro-Negro begins the return leg hot on the heels of leaders Botafogo and Vasco, who have 30 points. 

The current two-time Rio de Janeiro champion, Mais Querido, has won the Guanabara Cup in its last two campaigns and aims to maintain that performance this year. For coach Phelipe Leal, the first games of the second half will be crucial for Mengão to try to take the lead before the Belo Horizonte Junior Football Cup kicks off on July 17th.

"The match against Cabofriense kicks off the second half of a very tight championship. We believe these early matches are crucial for us to take the lead before the Taça BH break. However, we'll need to stay focused to achieve our goals," the coach emphasized.

Flamengo x Cabofriense:

In the first round of the Guanabara Cup, the teams faced each other three days after Flamengo won the Adidas Generation Cup in Dallas undefeated. The Ninhos Boys hosted Cabofriense in Gávea, with the alternate team consisting of only five players who were in Dallas (Otávio, Dhouglas, Sidney, Denilson, and Arthur). With a solid performance and controlling the match throughout the 90 minutes, Flamengo won the game 4-0, with goals from Denilson (2), Arthur, and Lázaro.
