The Flamengo and Fluminense U-17 teams made history in the second game of the State Championship final on Saturday morning (02), in Laranjeiras. In one of the best and most exciting games played so far this season, the Garotos do Ninho went into halftime losing 1-0. Even without Bruno (injured), and Gabriel Noga, Daniel Cabral, Lázaro and coach Phelipe Leal (who are competing in the World Championship in the category with the Brazilian national team), the Mais Querido returned for the second half determined to be champion and, with great determination, turned the game around to 4-2 (Will [2], Carlos Daniel and Maycon), a result that would take the decision of the state title to penalties. A goal by John Kennedy in the last play of stoppage time, however, gave the title to Fluminense, who had won the first game, in Gávea, 2-0. 

Flamengo started the game trying to apply pressure and score an early goal, but it was Fluminense who opened the scoring in the 12th minute, through Denis. The "Garotos do Ninho" (The Boys from the Nest) didn't let their guard down and went in search of the three goals that would send the match to a penalty shootout. In the 14th minute, Pedro Arthur hit a cross, and goalkeeper Cayo Felipe made the save in two attempts. "The Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) kept the pressure on. In the 20th minute, Caio took a corner kick, and Ryan Luka headed it at the near post. Cayo Felipe made a great save, saving Fluminense. 

The red-and-black pressure continued after the technical timeout. In the 24th minute, Pedro Arthur turned inside the box and shot low, but Cayo Felipe saved it again. In the 32nd minute, Carlos Daniel shot wide, the last chance of the first half.

The second half was different. In the first minute, Maycon skillfully converted a penalty kick into the top corner, leveling the score. The Ninho Boys needed two more goals and went on the attack. In the ninth minute, Weverton unleashed a left-footed volley, which the goalkeeper saved in two attempts. In the 17th minute, Mengão turned the game around. Will made a great individual play, shook off his marker, and fired a cross-shot. The defense deflected it, and the ball ended up in the back of the net. Only one more goal remained.

And it didn't take long for him to arrive. In the 21st minute, just after the technical timeout, Will headed in the third. In the 38th minute, when Flamengo continued to be much better on the field, Calegari reduced the deficit. Flamengo didn't give up, and Carlos Daniel scored a fourth in stoppage time, in the 41st minute. At that point, the title race was headed to penalties. But in the 44th minute, Jhon Kennedy scored the goal that gave Fluminense the state title.
