In a great match held this Saturday morning (01.07) at Engenhão, Flamengo's U-17 team lost the first leg of the Guanabara Cup final to Botafogo 4-3 (Patrick, Rhyan and Wendel). With this result, the Boys of the Nest will need to win the return leg by at least two goals, next weekend, at Gávea. Any victory by one goal for Flamengo will take the title fight to penalty kicks.

However, shortly after, Elivelton made it 2-1 with a penalty that Victor Hugo narrowly missed, and in the 45th minute, Pimenta scored Botafogo's third goal.

After a reprimand from coach Marcio Torres at halftime, Flamengo came out with renewed energy in the second half and quickly tied the game with goals from Rhyan in the second minute and Wendel in the 12th. Flamengo harassed their opponents in their own half throughout the second half but were unable to score the winning goal. In the 34th minute, following a corner kick, Pimenta again rose to score Botafogo's fourth, giving the final score to the derby.
