Without Lázaro, Daniel Cabral, Gabriel Noga and coach Phelipe Leal, who are on loan to the Brazilian National Team competing in the World Cup in the category, and goalkeeper Bruno, who is injured, Flamengo's U-17 team was defeated 2-0 by Fluminense this Saturday morning (26), in Gávea, in the first leg of the State Championship final. Now, the Garotos do Ninho need to win by two goals in next Saturday's classic (02), in Laranjeiras, to take the decision to penalties. A red-black victory by three or more goals will give the Carioca title to the Most Beloved.

The derby started evenly, but gradually the Garotos do Ninho began to dominate the action and create good scoring chances. The first came in the 18th minute, when Caio crossed and Ryan Luka headed the ball into the middle of the six-yard box. The defense cleared it. A minute later, Pedro Arthur received the ball at the edge of the box, cut inside, and shot low. The ball grazed the right post of the Tricolor goal. The red-and-blacks' best chance of the first half came in the 33rd minute. Carlos Daniel shook off his marker and beat goalkeeper Cayo Fellipe. The ball bounced off both posts and out of bounds. 

Fluminense opened the scoring in the 13th minute of the second half, with Marcos Felipe scoring an own goal after a corner kick. Fluminense was looking for an equalizer when it conceded its second goal in the 18th minute, scored by John Kennedy on a quick counterattack. Flamengo fought hard and tried to at least narrow the gap until the final whistle, but goes into the second leg needing a victory by at least two goals to continue dreaming of the U-17 state title.
