U-17s press until the end, but lose to Fluminense in the Brazilian Championship
The Ninho Boys take the lead with a goal from Jonathan, but are turned around and lose 2-1.

In a match played on Tuesday afternoon (16), in Gávea, and valid for the third round of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship, Flamengo was defeated by Fluminense by 2x1 (Jonathan). With the result, Mais Querido has four points in the classification table, and is preparing to visit Cruzeiro on the 24th, in Contagem (MG). Before, next Saturday (20), the Garotos do Ninho will face Fluminense again, this time in Xerém, for the Guanabara Cup.
Flamengo started the derby better, opening the scoring in the tenth minute. After a good corner kick from Lorran, top scorer Jonathan rose high and headed in Mengão's first goal at Gávea. It was his 11th goal of the season. Fluminense equalized in the 20th minute, with a shot from outside the box by Kayky Almeida.
Fluminense turned the game around five minutes into the second half with a header from Miguel Vera. Soon after, in the seventh minute, Lorran headed the ball into the corner. Goalkeeper Kevyn Vinicius made a great save; the ball hit the foot of the post, and the defense cleared the rebound.
Mengão went on the attack in search of a result. In the 15th minute, Lorran received the ball unmarked in the box and fired a powerful shot. Goalkeeper Kevyn Vinicius made another great save, preventing the equalizer. In the 19th minute, Lorran unleashed a bomb from the edge of the box. The Tricolor goalkeeper saved the team once again, just as he did in the 38th minute, with a header from Luan Andrey.
