The first leg of the Guanabara Cup U-17 final between Flamengo and Fluminense was very evenly matched, tense, and controversial. Flamengo, the best on the field for most of the derby, led twice but conceded the equalizer in second-half stoppage time, after a foul by the Flamengo striker was complained about by Flamengo. The 2-2 draw (Lázaro and Pedro Arthur) keeps the decision open for the second leg, scheduled for next Saturday (29) at 10 am at Laranjeiras Stadium. Before that, on Wednesday (26) at 15 pm, Flamengo hosts Athlético PR in the second leg of the Brazilian Championship quarterfinals. In the first leg, Flamengo won 3-1, giving them a good advantage in the fight for a spot in the semifinals of the national competition.

The first chance to score fell to Flamengo. In the first minute, Lázaro took a shot from outside the box, and the ball went dangerously wide of goalkeeper Cayo Felipe's goal. In the seventh minute, Fluminense responded with Miguel's shot from outside the box. In the 15th minute, Maycon sent a free kick over the Tricolor crossbar. Flamengo came back to score again in the 28th minute. In a good attacking triangle, Maycon passed to Marcos Felipe, who crossed low into the box. Weverton arrived a second too late and couldn't reach the ball, which went out over the goal line. 

The Boys of the Nest opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Pedro Arthur made an excellent play down the right wing and crossed perfectly for Lázaro, the red-and-black's top scorer this season, to tap it into the back of the net for his 19th goal of the year, sending the Mais Querido into the locker room with the advantage.

However, in the first minute of the second half, Fluminense equalized with a goal from John. Matheus Martins then unleashed a shot from the edge of the box, but the ball hit Bruno's post. Flamengo went on the attack in search of victory. In the ninth minute, Marcos Felipe hit a cross, putting Cayo Felipe's goal in danger. And in the 16th minute, Flamengo scored the second. Lázaro unleashed a rocket from outside the box, Cayo Felipe rebounded it into the middle of the box, and Pedro Arthur showed great opportunism to put the Garotos do Ninho back in front.

The derby was tense and evenly matched. In the 27th minute, Lázaro received the ball at the edge of the box and fired a cross that was safely saved by Cayo Felipe. In stoppage time, after a corner kick, John rose and headed in, leveling the score again. The red-and-black defense complained of a foul, but the referee upheld the goal, which sealed the final score in the derby.
