With a love of winning, Flamengo's U-17 team, led by coach Phelipe Leal, took the field on Valentine's Day to conclude their participation in the group stage of the Brazilian Championship. Controlling the action throughout the match, the "Garotos do Ninho" easily won 3-0 (Weverton [2] and Igor Lemos), reaching 18 points and achieving their fifth victory in nine matches in the competition. The result solidified "Mais Querido" in second place in the group. Thus, Flamengo will decide the quarterfinal duel at home against Athlético PR, who host the first game next week on the synthetic turf of Arena da Baixada. 

In the 14th minute, Marcos Felipe fired a shot that goalkeeper Lucas made a save without rebounding. In the 20th minute, Lázaro took a low shot from outside the box, threatening the Chapecoense goal. The Rubro-Negro pressure was intense, and Weverton even tapped it into the back of the net in the 22nd minute, but the referee flagged for offside and disallowed the play. Chapecoense first threatened in the 39th minute, with a shot by Mauricio that went wide to the left of Bruno's goal.

Flamengo returned from the break with greater focus. In the first minute, Jean Carlos, who replaced Pedro Arthur, cut through the defense and struck a powerful shot that Lucas made a good save. In the ninth minute, Flamengo finally opened the scoring. Maycon delivered a perfect free kick to Weverton, who got ahead of the goalkeeper and headed it in to score the first goal of the match for the Boys of the Nest. 

Flamengo extended their lead in the 16th minute, with a move that was practically a carbon copy of the first goal. This time, it was Murillo who took the free kick and placed the ball on the head of Weverton, who headed it in with aplomb, scoring his second goal on a scorching afternoon in Gávea. Even with second place in the group already secured, Flamengo didn't slow down and reached the third with a stunning goal by Igor Lemos, who in the 29th minute placed the ball with care into the right corner, but Lucas didn't even attempt a reaction. In the quarterfinals, Flamengo will face Athlético Paranaense, playing the second leg at home.
