U-17 team comfortably defeats América MG and is in the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil

With a strong lead, the Ninho Boys beat Gávea 3-0 and secured qualification. Their opponent in the next round will be São Paulo.

Demonstrating their enormous technical superiority on the Gávea pitch from the opening minute, Flamengo's U-17 team comfortably defeated América MG 3-0 (Yuri de Oliveira, Rhyan and Reinier) in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil round of 25, played on Thursday afternoon (15), and qualified without much difficulty for the quarterfinals of the category's main national competition. In the next phase, the opponent will be São Paulo. The first game is scheduled for next week, and the Garotos do Ninho will decide the match at home, in XNUMX days. Dates, times and locations of the matches have not yet been confirmed by the CBF.


The game was tight, and the Garotos do Ninho's first shot came in the 11th minute. Yuri de Oliveira fired a shot from the edge of the box. Well-placed, goalkeeper Bruno made the save. The following minute, the Mais Querido opened the scoring. Lázaro received the ball and saw Yuri de Oliveira's pass perfectly. He controlled it inside the box and struck hard. The ball deflected off the defense and ended up in the back of the Minas Gerais team's net. 

The second goal didn't take long to arrive. In the 17th minute, the defense failed to clear the ball, and Rhyan was smart. The center forward stole the ball and skillfully chipped it past Bruno, extending the lead and giving the Ninho Boys more confidence in the match. In the 34th minute, Reinier passed to Lázaro, who crossed the ball, but Bruno made a good save. América didn't get a dangerous shot until the 43rd minute. Gustavo received the ball at the edge of the box and struck it hard, but Pedro Victor made a confident and calm save. In the 44th minute, in the last chance before halftime, Ítalo took a shot with his right foot, and Bruno palmed it away for a corner.



Flamengo maintained their momentum after the break and quickly added a third. After a cross into the box in the third minute, Lucas Freitas headed the ball, but Bruno made the save.
